SPLENDOUR BENDER COUNTDOWN

With only 10 days left to Splendour, the excitement is setting in.  The timetable is up and fortunately there is not too many clashes for me.  Three days of music bliss.  I cannot wait.  To tide me over until the day actually arrives I have been creating playlists of the bands/artists I plan to see.  Here is a few songs I'm itching to see played over the three day festival:

Ashes to Ashes - Warpaint
You Dress Up For Armageddon - The Hives
Don't Stop - Foster The People
Samson - Regina Spektor
Sour Cherry - The Kills
Contact High - Architecture in Helsinki
Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye
Wreckin'n Bar - The Vaccines

"The earth is what we all have in common"

Who else did earth hour last saturday?  I have been doing it for the past four years since it first evolved.  Although its only for one hour people struggle to comply don't they?  I think it is such a wonderful cause that we should all endeavour to get behind next year.  Not only is it directly impacting on nature I think its a wonderful peaceful hour.....

I wish I was the verb 'to trust' and never let you down

Last night I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Eddie Vedder perform solo at the QPAC Concert Hall here in Brisbane.  I've seen Pearl Jam live several times now and each time I loudly exclaim that it was the best performance yet.  Last night is something that I will never ever forget.... Absolutely mesmerising.  Not even the drunk bogans obnoxiously yelling out requests can taint the evening for me.  I went in with high hopes of hearing a Springsteen cover and although my wish didnt come true I was treated to a Tom Waits cover and unexpected performance with Wolfmother's Andrew Stockdale.  The highlight of the night had to be when Eddie looped his own vocals for a few haunting and magical moments.  Bliss.

High Tea, lazy strolls, attending a house warming party, brunch with friends and cute puppies... what more could I ask for in a weekend?
